Help & Returns
Real answers about flaws, shipping from Amsterdam, and what happens if the documented imperfection isn't the one you wanted.
Is the product actually broken?
No. A second is a cosmetic miss, not a defect. A drifted glaze, an off-centre stamp, an upside-down binding. It does everything the flawless version does. We document the exact flaw on every product page so there are no surprises.
What does the flaw-severity badge mean?
It's our honesty scale. 'Barely noticeable' means you'll have to hunt for it. 'Cosmetic' is visible but harmless. 'Loud and proud' means the flaw is the first thing you'll see, and the discount reflects that.
Can I return a second if I don't like the flaw?
Yes, within 14 days, EU rules and then some. But the flaw shown in the photos is the flaw you'll get, so returns over the documented flaw are rare. If it arrives with damage we didn't list, that's on us and we'll sort it.
Where do you ship from and how much is it?
Everything ships from our Amsterdam workshop. Flat-rate shipping across the Netherlands and the EU, free over EUR 75. We pack seconds in reused materials, because binning packaging to sell anti-waste goods would be absurd.
Why is the discount different on each item?
The price matches the flaw. A barely noticeable misprint gets a small cut; a loud, can't-unsee-it glaze gets a big one. The flaw-severity badge and the original price are both on every card so you can see the maths.
Are these from real design brands?
Yes, from European design houses that would rather see good objects used than crushed. Some let us name them, some prefer we don't, so a few products list the maker and a few just say 'a Dutch ceramics studio.'
